Wordpress

The most popular open source CMS in the world, used by 14% of the top 1million websites in the world, Wordpress offers a lot to its users. It has a good plug-in architecture, and a rich templating system based on PHP and Mysql. For a system originally designed for one task (blogging), Wordpress is remarkably flexible and easy to use.

When compared to other CMSs, it has limitations in customization, speed, and overall functionality. Wordpress, however is a good alternative for small businesses, or individuals that want a web presence fast. It is not a large scale enterprise system, thus doesn’t have some of those development lags. Yet it is built well enough that even large enterprise websites fall back to it for their blogging needs, and heavily rely on it for smaller microsites (this is a relative term, some of these sites are several thousand pages long).

Wordpress offers impressive SEO capabilities, it is these capabilities that other systems (even larger robust CMSs) lack. With Wordpress websites, you know that you are getting the best platform to bring customers to you quickly. Ultimately that is the goal of most if not all websites.
